Speaking when he toured the Ward, Mr Gichangi said that garbage is strewn everywhere posing risk to residents.

The Ward representative alleged that the county has not been collecting garbage in some estates yet it collects levies from traders and residents.

Mr Gichangi noted that despite raising the matter with the county officials nothing has been forthcoming.

“I have used every means to raise this matter with the relevant county officials but nothing has been done,” he said.

Gichangi stated that residents are now in fear of cholera outbreak which has been reported in some parts of the county.

The MCA now wants Governor Kinuthia Mbugua to tour the Ward and see what residents are going through.

The county has the moral responsibility and obligation to ensure proper sanitation standards for its people,” he said.

Mr Gichangi at the same time asked the county government to construct public toilets. He said most parts of the area have no public toilets and that traders and residents are finding it hard to operate without latrines.
