The Johnston Kavuludi led vetting team was on Tuesday treated to a rude shock when a traffic police constable revealed that his net worth is Sh2,206.
Ibrahim Abdi, who is attached to the Mariakani weigh bridge surprised the panel with the unexpected as they had anticipated him to be worth millions.
According to the police constable, he has been in service for the last twenty years and only managed to save that much.
Abdi narrated to the panel of his unmet family needs that have so far prompted one of his wives to abandon him and seek greener pastures elsewhere.
He further said that he has five children with his eldest son being in form one at a Thika based school.
"I am the sole breadwinner in my family. I come from a very poor background in the North Eastern town of Wajir where I got married immediately and got a job with the Kenya police force," he told the vetting commission.
The officer reported that he only has one bank account at Cooperative Bank, also stating that he has never secured any loan ever since he was employed.
The revelations left the vetting commission wide-mouthed as some of the already axed traffic police officers with similar ranks were valued at millions in relation to their net worth.
