Renowned dancehall artist Shavey of the popular once celebrated duo “shavey n slice” passed on Monday night after being run over by Matatu at Tushauriane area in Kayole.
The artist is said to be operating as a part time tout on the Matatu which took away his life after missing an alighting step as the vehicle was taking off. As a result he died on the spot due to injuries on the head and chest area.
The Matatu christened as “Liverpool” is said to be notorious for killing and maiming people in the area according to residents.
“Previously, it was known as Liverpool but its name and colors were changed to hide the fact that it is notorious for killing people,” one resident stated while emphasizing on the need to investigate the matter by police.
Shavey and slice are famed for their smash hit “gyal” which ruled the airwaves in Kenya and went as far as to enjoy good airplay in East Africa and Jamaica back in 2007.
