There might erupt a misunderstanding between the land and interior ministries after interior CS, Joseph Nkaissery said that the money allocated for building prison warders houses should not be channelled under the land’s ministry but his ministry.
Appearing before the senate committee of legal Affairs and Human Rights on Wednesday, Nkaissery said he believes his ministry will budget well for the money since it is the security’s mother ministry that how the land’s ministry will budget. He said that he is sure his ministry understands the problems of prison officers better than the land ministry.
‘’My ministry is in a better position to handle the money because I am in a better position to address the problems encountered by our prison officers. I believe I will budget better for the money than the land’s ministry,’’ he said.
The cabinet secretary appealed to the committee to help him in asking for the money and promised to be held accountable in case of any issues arising.
