About Sh2 million was stolen from Post Bank Kajiado branch on Saturday by armed robbers.

The three armed men stepped into the bank and ordered security guards to get the to the managers office.

The thugs forced the manager to take them to the strongroom where they made away with the cash after taking the CCTV server to cover their tracks.

According to Kenyans.co.ke, Police in Kajiado have begun investigations as some quarters claim that it was an inside job.

Kajiado Central DCI Elijah Msangi said that the three robbers made their way into the bank on Saturday at about 1.30pm in a mission that went uninterrupted until 3.30pm when a woman operating a business outside the bank noticed suspicious activity at the bank and called an employee of the bank whom she knows.

The employee then called Kajiado central Deputy DCI, who informed the DCIO.

Police arrived at the bank only to find the manager and other employees locked in the strongroom.

Eyewitnesses stated that the police were unsure if the robbers were still in the building when they arrived as they shot in the air anticipating retaliatory attacks.

One guard of the two employed by the bank was on duty at the time of the incident.
