Fresh details continue to emerge on the killing of Mumias Sugar Company official Ronald Lubya.
According to the latest investigations, the officer succumbed to injuries caused by a blunt object, which broke his skull.
Autopsy on the slain officer was conducted by the regional pathologist by pathologist Solomon Sava and witnessed by the family doctor and the police.
Lubya was ambushed and killed in his compound on Sunday night, with the assailants said to have been dressed in police uniform.
The assailants are said to have gained entry into the house after cutting a fence at around 10pm.
They ate the food she had cooked and stole a TV, laptop, mobile phones and some documents, before escaping using a Toyota Harrier family car.
On Monday, Sabatia MP Alfred Agoi his Vihiga and Lugari counterparts claimed Lubya died for failing to sign for the importation of illegal sugar, which was to be released in the market as Mumias Sugar.
“It is sad that now we have resorted to killing public officers who are protecting public funds from being misused in political campaigns. Let political parties get money for their campaigns from the right sources,” said Agoi.
NASA flag-bearer Raila Odinga also called for a speedy investigation, and also pointed fingers at the government over the incident.
The Postmortem was conducted at Avenue Hospital in Kisumu.
