Nairobi Senator Mike Mbuvi Sonko says that Deputy President William Ruto has fallen victim to power brokers.
He says the brokers are using propaganda saying that he cannot win the Nairobi gubernatorial seat in 2017.
A seemingly angry Sonko said on Saturday that the brokers have misled Ruto into believing a Sonko win will make it an uphill task for Ruto to rise to Presidency in 2022.
"The power brokers have misled DP into believing that if Sonko wins the Nairobi gubernatorial seat, it will compromise his presidential quest," said Sonko.
The senator assured that he was firmly in Jubilee and will be drumming support for Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election.
In the past few weeks, controversy has hit Jubilee after claims that Water Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa was Jubilee’s preferred candidate for the Nairobi gubernatorial seat.
Sonko was speaking in Kericho during the homecoming of Baby Scandy from India.
Baby Scandy had an eye problem and was sponsored by Sonko to get treatment in India.
