The County government of Kisumu has restored that electricity is back at the Kisumu District Hospital.

On August 25, Governor Prof Anyang' Nyong'o visited the facility, only to find operation literally grounded, with a standing electricity bill of over Sh780,000.

Nyong'o later called for an urgent meeting with all stakeholders, management and Kenya Power officials to discuss the matter, after which power was restored.

"We shall continue working with all stakeholders to ensure that the people of Kisumu are not punished because of failures of past regimes," the governor said, Tuesday.

The facility serves several people from the county and the neighbouring counties.
