1. Assistant Minister for Works, Housing and Physical Planning
Kalonzo was elected into parliament in 1985. He became one of the youngest members of parliament during that time when he entered the house at the age of 32. It was during this time he was appointed Assistant Minister for Works, Housing and Physical Planning, a position he served until 1988.
2. Deputy Speaker of the National assembly
The Wiper Party Patron retained his seat in 1988 and he was elected to serve as Deputy Speaker of the National assembly. He served in this until 1992. He was also the Kenya African National Union (KANU) National Organizing Secretary from 1988 to 2002.
3. Vice-President
Kalonzo was appointed the Vice President of Kenya on January 2008. The appointment came after he accepted to work with Former President Mwai Kibaki. In 2007, he had contested of the Presidency and emerged third.
4. Minister of Home Affairs
Kalonzo was once a minister of Home Affairs. He was appointed into the position in 2008 where he also served as the VP. He was tasked with affairs in the county for the betterment of the lives of Kenyans
5. Minister for the Environment
In 2004, Former President Kibaki moved Kalonzo to the position of Minister for the Environment. The Wiper leader served the position with diligence before he departed from the office. His hard work made him win hearts of many Kenyans and environmentalists from all over the world.
