Interior and Coordination Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho has accused Nairobi Governor Miko Sonko of unfairly dragging his name to William Ruto's 2022 bid.
At an interview in Kameme FM, Sonko had lashed at Kibicho, accusing him of organising night meetings to scuttle Ruto's ascension to power.
But Kibicho, who has since denied the allegations, says his problems with the stylish governor started when he refused to grant him permission to fly two flags.
"Tell Sonko to grow up and address the people he wants to but not through me. He should address the person directly and that is what men do," he said.
He added: "Our problems started when he tried to fly two flags like the president and because I am responsible, I denied him permission."
During the interview, Sonko also accused Kibicho of trying to dictate him the person he should choose as deputy governor.
The Jubilee governor is set to appoint a deputy after unceremonious exit of his deputy, Polycarp Igathe.
