Nakuru senator Susan Kihika has said it was painful to lose three members of his communication team.

Speaking during the burial of Anthony Kipyegon, one of the victims,  Kihika described the victims as young, dedicated and energetic.

The daughter of former veteran politician Dickson Kihika Kimani urged mourners to remember the victims' families in prayers especially those whose kins' bodies have not been found.

"It is a difficult moment for us and the families. Pray for families and that the bodies still missing will be retrieved and bring the matter to a close," Kihika said.

Kipyegon was in the company of John Mapozi,  Sam Gitau, Veronicah Muthoni and pilot Apollo Malowa when their chopper crashed into Lake Nauru.

The bodies of Gitau, Mapozi and Muthoni are still missing.

Divers are still combing the Lake in search of the bodies.
