Salgaa residents on Thursday held prayers along the stretch which has become anonymous with fatal crashes.
Religious leaders and families of victims of accidents along the black spot came together to pray and remember those who have perished.
Nimrod Momanyi, who survived a clash that left five of his teen friends dead, was among those who held prayers.
He said the day remains etched on his mind after they tried to overtake but their saloon car rammed into an oncoming bus.
“He tried to overtake but rammed into an oncoming bus which was speeding,” he said.
Catholic Diocese of Nakuru Bishop Maurice Muhatia, who led the prayers, said there is need for drivers to be careful this festive season.
The prayers will culminate into globe day of remembrance of traffic victims which will be held on November 20.
