For this woman in her forties, her 40th day came knocking in style. Her mischief was detected by the residents of Slota, a slum in Athi River town in Machakos county.

She has been going from door to door masquarading as a preacher, a woman of God. While she is inside your house, she will engage you in a series of sermons and then tell you to close your eyes for prayers. It is while your eyes are closed that she will steal anything small in size that can fit in her pants like money and phones.

When her mission of "spreading the word of God" is finished in one house, she will then move to the next house and the process continues.

Her 40th day arrived when a woman in Slota chanced upon seeing her hiding money and a mobile phone in her pants.

She raised an alarm and angry mob descended on her with kicks and slaps. The mob clobbered her and took her to Athi River police station.
