Macharia claimed that she felt into a drainage while trying to protect her daughter from being attacked by baboons.

“Were it not for the birthday cake that kept one of the baboons busy, I might have sustained more injuries and pain than I already have. I had to battle with one who held me from my back pinning me down to sewerage system,” said Macharia.

Macharia who was rushed to maternity ward upon admission to the Rift Valley Provincial General Hospital, said she was rescued by passers-by after battling with the baboons for more than ten minutes.

Macharia said although she is feeling pain on her stomach, waist and back, the ultrasound done on her however showed the baby was okay. She however said her daughter, who escaped unhurt is still shocked from the incident and is traumatised with the turn of events.

Macharia alleged that it was not the first time she had been attacked by baboons adding that her together with some other neighbours had suffered from baboons’ beatings.
