A pregnant woman sustained injuries on Friday when a motorcycle she had boarded was involved in an accident with a Matatu in Kebirigo area.

The accident which happened in the afternoon left many Kebirigo residents shocked as the woman wreathed in pain on the ground.

The woman identified as Gladys Onchieku was taken to Nyamira Level Five Hospital by well wishers where she is currently recuperating.

According to eyewitnesses the Matatu collided with the motorcycle where they claim the matatu was using the wrong lane.

By the time of going to press the police had not arrived at the scene.

“The motorcycle was hit at the back before it veered of the road to a nearby ditch," said Irene Manono an eyewitness.

Another eyewitness, Dourghat Masese blamed the accident to reckless driving saying drivers and bodaboda operators have not been adhering to traffic rules.

“Over speeding is another cause of accidents in this town, drivers always move speedily competing for customers with colleagues, something that must stop," said Masese
