A pregnant woman and her bodaboda rider escaped death narrowly after they were involved in an accident in Thika Town this afternoon.
The 4:05pm accident happened along Uhuru Highway when a matatu driver used the wrong side of the road hence colliding with the bodaboda who was carrying the pregnant woman.
According to witnesses, the bike was thrown off the road occasioning both the rider and the passenger some injuries.
Area residents decried the recklessness of area drivers whom they termed as not caring.
“Hawa madriver hawajali maisha ya abiria; wanatumia wrong side kuovertake, speeding na kuongea vibaya,” James Njoroge a witness said.
The increase of road accidents in Thika Town is attributed to the narrow roads and speeding by drivers.
The woman was rushed to Thika Level Five Hospital for medical examination while the driver and the rider were left with the police.
