Nyamira County Health Director Jack Magara has challenged pregnant women to strive and ensure they always give birth in hospitals in order to reduce risks of losing their lives.
According to Magara, women in the county should not be delivering at home anymore because the government has invested in health facilities that can manage all maternal cases.
While addressing the press on Wednesday in Nyamira town, Magara said that statistics indicate that 50 percent of pregnant women give birth at home, something that is too risky.
“The county has invested more in the health sector across the county, let every pregnant woman deliver at a health facility in order to avoid loss of lives," said Magara.
He also advised residents to visit health centers to be tested to know their health status.
