The Sh300 million inauguration fete’s preparations are complete and now Kenyans are all invited to attend the ceremony at their discretion.
According to the planning committee, there will be enough security for the attendees of all social classes.
This year, the Treasury has immensely banked on security aspect during the inauguration of President Uhuru Kenyatta for the second term in office. In 2013 the ceremony cost Ksh374 million.
On Friday, the committee, which is led by Mr. Joseph Kinyua, Chief of Staff and Head of the Public Service, was unable to say how the sh300 million has been used.
“All the arrangements for the swearing-in of President Uhuru are over and I take this opportunity to invite all Kenyans of goodwill to come in large numbers and witness the swearing-in of their president.” Said Kinyua.
The committee said that they have also invited the NASA coalition and all the other six presidential candidates together with their running mates to the event.
However, NASA chief principal Raila Odinga is unlikely to attend as the opposition had earlier vowed to swear in their leader in the likely event that the Judiciary swears-in president Uhuru.
