[Photo/nation.co.ke] Preparations at Kasarani stadium and Kenyatta University hostels for the forthcoming IAAF World under-18 championships to be held in two weeks’ time are at an advanced stage and will be ready for a dry run this Saturday.
This was revealed Wednesday by Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery, Principal Secretary for Sports, Kirimi Kaberia and local organizing committee CEO during the inspection of the facilities before handing over the stadium to IAAF officials on Monday next week.
Muthee stated that they have been working day and night to ensure everything is in place by Saturday.
Nkaissery confirmed that 150 countries have confirmed their participation and security will be tightened during the five day global event.
Kirimi Kaberia said a number of stadia in the country will be completed by the end of the year and that Kenya will be ready to host the 2018 African Nations Championships in January.
