Government departments in Marsabit have been asked to release their vehicles for use by officials during the forth coming national examinations whose preparation climaxed last week.

County commissioner Meru Mwangi asked heads of departments to release government vehicles at their disposal for the national exercise.

Mwangi said the vehicles were needed for transport of the examination materials and personnel manning the exercise.

County director of education Milton Nzioka said that briefs in the sub counties for the KCSE and KCPE have been conducted.

The officer added that there are 4,251 KCPE out of whom 90% are privately registered while 1,391 have been listed for KCSE with 45% private candidates.

Nzioka said there are 35 secondary schools and 176 primary schools in the county and plans on how the candidates will sit for the exams has been finalized.
