AFC Leopards should prepare for a 5-nil beating against Kakamega Homeboyz at the Mumias Sports Complex, the Kakamega-based side has said.
Staged in a region both teams enjoy wide support with Leopards holding onto the lion's share of the fans, the match is expected to be a thriller as Leopards hope to regain their form after ammersing only two points in their last five fixtures.
Homeboyz are expected to come boosted by the 4-1 victory they last registered when the two sides met at the venue in September last year.
Their chairman Cleophas Shimanyula has prophesied a high-scoring game where they aim at beating the Big Cats with at least 5 goals.
“We shall beat them. That is all I can tell you. They started the season very well and I know that they have some very good players, but we crushed them last year and I believe that we can beat them again comprehensively. I think we shall even score five goals this time,” he said.
On the other hand, Leopards assistant coach Dennis Kitambi is optimistic his side will pick positives from the match, saying they are going for nothing but maximum points.
“It is not easy. Nobody is happy with this performance. We want to win very badly,” he said.
Only one point stands between the two sides with Homeboyz on top and Leopards risk slipping out of the best 10 bracket should they lose the match.
