Mombasa gubernatorial aspirant Suleiman Shahbal has asked the National Super Alliance (NASA) to prepare for a tough battle in the August elections.

Shahbal said Coast is no longer an opposition zone and will overwhelmingly support President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election.Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV on Sunday , Shahbal said Coast people are tired of the opposition rhetoric and want change, adding that Jubilee is the only outfit that can end historical injustices in the region.“Let no one stand up and claim that Coast is an opposition zone because that is not the case,” said Shahbal. The gubernatorial aspirant asked opposition to prepare for a political 'tsunami', adding that Coast will not be deceived by selfish leaders who have no chance of forming government in August. At the same time, Shahhal hit out at Governor Hassan Joho saying that he does not own Mombasa.“Governor Joho should know that Mombasa belongs to Coast locals and not him,” he said. The aspirant has vowed to send Joho packing on August 8.
