Ngilu, who is considered Malombe’s fiercest rival, said that the county boss should prepare for a battle of the titans when that time comes.
She was addressing her supporters at Mutomo shopping centre in Kitui on Thursday where she argued that the governor, who enjoys good ties with Wiper Party leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, has already sensed defeat as we head to the General elections.
“Malombe should stop speculating false information and instead prepare himself for a tough battle on August 8,” she said as quoted by the Standard.
She also took a swipe at the governor, saying that he has done little to change the lives of the residents since he took over leadership following the last general elections.
The Kitui governorship race has also attracted Senator David Musila who is contesting as an Independent candidate. The senator is considered to be in a weaker position to clinch the seat after he parted ways with Kalonzo, a former vice president. The senator has been arguing that he deserves the post because of his exemplary performance since he entered the field of politics.
