Wiper Party Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka has said that Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua will not escape the trap of the National Super Alliance (NASA) after the August General elections.
The former vice president, who spoke during NASA rally in the region, said that leaders of the alliance are determined to ensure that defectors are sent home when that time comes. He said that Mutua and other leaders who left Wiper because of their own reasons dug their own graves.
“The likes of Joe Mutambo and Regina Munyao (MPs who defected to Jubilee), I have given them to President Uhuru but Ukambani is a NASA stronghold and they will face the axe come August. Even Governor Mutua will not be favored by the NASA juggernaut. He will lose the elections because people of Ukambani have decided it is NASA,” said Kalonzo Musyoka, as quoted by Citizen.
On his part, Mutua has continued to express confidence that he will retain the seat in the forthcoming polls. The governor is banking on his performance scoreboard to retain the seat when that time comes.
Mutua was cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) amidst corruption claims. The governor is set to square it out with Former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti and Deputy Governor Bernard Kiala, an Independent candidate.
