Senator Hassan Omar on Saturday took his campaigns for Mombasa governor to Kisauni constituency, Joho's political turf, as the hunt of votes intensifies.
While rallying residents to support his bid, the Senator said that he is keen to make devolution work as Governor Hassan Joho has failed at the helm of the county leadership.Omar, who was in the company of his running mate Linda Shuma and other Wiper Party aspirants across the county, took issue with the incumbent's “poor leadership which has left the county on the brink of collapse”.While amplifying his promise to give Joho a run for his money, Omar said the incumbent should be brace for defeat during the August 8 elections.The Senator said that his administration will ensure there is equitable distribution of resources to tackle the disparities in development within the county.He further promised to bridge the inequality gap in the country.Mombasa politics have been revolving around Kisauni constituency for years, and the constituency may once again prove to be the deciding factor in the 2017 gubernatorial race with the leading contenders keen to get a chunk of over 80,000 registered voters.
