NASA Presidential candidate Raila Amolo Odinga’s running mate, Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka has said that Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua will not retain his seat in the August elections because he has ‘thrown away the ladder” that took him to power.
Kalonzo, also Wiper Party Leader, said that Mutua used him to ascend to the county’s top post only to walk away from his camp. The former vice president argued that the wave of the opposition will not spare defectors including the incumbent governor as he seeks another term in office.
“Mutua used me to climb to the top and after achieving what he wanted, he threw the ladder away. I am tired of being used by Kamba politicians to build themselves then they forget about me. That is why I told the President that I gave him those who defected from Wiper,” he said, as quoted by Nation.
Mutua will be squaring it out with former Kathaini MP Wavinya Ndeti. Ndeti ditched Chama Cha Uzalendo to join Wiper ahead of the August polls. She has been criticizing the current governor for doing little to transform the county following her election. The outspoken leader has vowed to floor the incumbent in the forthcoming exercise.
