Aspirants eying the Bungoma Senatorial seat have said they will beat Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula in the forthcoming general election. The politicians said the Senator should prepare to lose in the August polls.Bonny Nyongesa, an ODM aspirant said Wetangula will be in for a rude shock if he contests for the seat, adding that they will not give him any special treatment.“While we are alive to the fact it is his democratic right, as NASA affiliate candidates running for the seat, we are going to treat him not as a principal, but a competitor. We are ready to punch him hard,” said Nyongesa, as quoted by The Star. The former Royal Media Services journalist also said that Wetangula will only complicate matters for NASA if he vies the seat. Jubilee aspirant Juma Mukhwana also took a swipe at the NASA co-principal saying it is interesting for a presidential candidate to settle for a senatorial seat.“Did Wetang’ula have to launch a presidential bid where youths died, only to vie for senator?” he asked. The remarks of the three were reiterated by Western region ANC coordinator Major Malala who said the Senator will only give the party a hard time. “Reports the decision by Wetang’ula to contest for the Bungoma Senate seat will complicate matters for other candidates are misleading because that is simply a Ford Kenya affair,” he said.
