Kirinyaga governor Joseph Ndathi and Mwea MP Peter Gitau have warned the Jubilee Party to prepare for a major defeat in the August general elections.

Ndathi and Gitau, who are currently defending their seats as independents, said that the voting pattern is bound to change "since the Jubilee Party nominations were not free and fair".

"The General Election will prove Jubilee wrong for dismissing petitions by those who felt cheated in the nominations," said Ndathi.

The governor will be facing Jubilee's Anne Waiguru and Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua.
