Changamwe MP aspirant Peterson Mitau has vowed to unseat the incumbent, MP Omar Mwinyi, in the August 8 elections.

Mitau who is vying as an independent candidate after losing in the Wiper Party nominations to Daniel Muange said that Mwinyi, who is vying on an ODM ticket is beatable.

Speaking when he launched his campaigns, Mitau who is hoping to clinch the seat in his third attempt after losing in 2007 and 2013 asked his competitors to be prepare for a humiliating defeat.

"This time round, it will not be business as usual. I want to ask my competitors in NASA and Jubilee to prepare themselves for a huge defeat. I will emerge victorious in August 8," he said.

Jubilee's Abdi Daib is also in the race.

Mwinyi is banking on his network at the grassroots and the party popularity to defend the seat he inherited from veteran politician Ramadhan Kajembe.

On the other hand, Muange is banking on the significant population of the members of the Kamba community in the constituency.
