Makueni governor hopeful Gideon Ndambuki has asked incumbent Professor Kivutha Kibwana to prepare for a resounding defeat on August 8.
Addressing supporters in Mbooni on Wednesday, the former Permanent Secretary accused Kibwana of doing little to uplift the living standards of residents.
He said that Kibwana’s government has performed below average, adding that it is time for the professor to go home.
Ndambuki said that residents are still languishing in poverty with access to clean water remaining a serious challenge.
“Governor Kibwana should start packing out of office because he has been unable to champion for development,” the former PS as quoted by the Star.
Ndambuki urged residents to endorse his bid, saying he is more experienced to manage and handle county affairs.
The Jubilee governor hopeful promised to spearhead job creation, economic development and provision of clean water to locals.
Ndambuki also promised to empower women and Persons Living with Disabilities (PLWD) if elected.
He urged residents to remain peaceful as they wait for the August 8 general election.
Other candidates eyeing to unseat Kibwana are Bernard Kiilu vying on Liberal Democratic Party and real estate tycoon David Masika contesting on New Democrats Party.
Kibwana is seeking re-election o Wiper ticket after dissolving his Muungano party early this year.
