Former National Assembly Deputy Speaker Farah Maalim has asked Garissa Town MP Aden Duale to prepare for a tough battle in the much anticipated August 8 general elections.
Maalim, who is eyeing to unseat Duale said on Wednesday that he is not living anything to chance in the race for the Garissa Parliamentary seat.
Speaking at the Bomas of Kenya during a rally called by the opposition parties, Maalim exuded confidence of trouncing Duale in the August 8 elections.
“Duale should get ready for a fierce battle because I am not living anything to chance,” said former Lagdera MP.
The former National Assembly Deputy Speaker further claimed that Duale is a letdown to Garissa locals.
“Time has come for Garissa locals to speak out and kick out Duale and other Jubilee politicians who have failed to deliver services and instead are spewing propaganda and hatred,” he said.
Maalim urged Kenyans to register as voters to enable the opposition win the August 8 polls, promising to deliver all political seats in North Eastern region to the opposition.
Duale is seeking re-election as MP in the August 8 polls. He however faces stiff competition from Maalim, who was recently appointed as Wiper Deputy Party leader.
The two politicians have been exchanging bitter words recently, with Maalim claiming that Duale is allegedly inciting locals against him. Duale on the other hand claims that Maalim is spreading propaganda to win locals support ahead of the August polls.
