Balambala Jubilee MP hopeful Abdi Omar Shurie has asked incumbent Abdikadir Aden to prepare for bruising battle in the upcoming August 8 general election.

Addressing supporters at Sankuri Ward on Monday, Shurie vowed to send Aden packing, saying  the MP has done nothing in terms of development for residents.

The MP hopeful said that residents have lost faith in Aden and he should prepare to go home.

Shurie slammed the ODM MP claiming he has not fulfilled what he promised residents in 2013.

“Aden should tell Balambala residents what he has done for them for the time he has served as MP,” he said as quoted by the People Daily.

The Jubilee MP aspirant further criticized the MP, accusing him of favourism in allocation of Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

Shurie claimed that Aden has openly discriminated against some groups in issuance of CDF.

He said that the constituency has remained poor despite the MP having access to CDF.

He further claimed that needy but bright students who are supposed to be funded by CDF to are at home.

“Aden has failed Balambala people and he will pay the price on August 8,” the Jubilee MP aspirant said.

Shurie urged residents to give him chance to represent them in the National Assembly.

He promised to promote the interests of marginalized groups and locals at large if elected.

Shurie said that employment creation will be his number one agenda if he wins the parliamentary seat on August 8.

He also promised to spearhead unity among communities living in the constituency and the larger Garissa County.

Shurie said that he is experienced enough to push for locals interests in the National Assembly.

Reacting to the MP hopeful claims of favourism in CDF issuance, Aden said that Balambala is amongst the few constituencies that have prudently utilized CDF.

The ODM MP accused Shurie of running smear campaigns against him.

Aden is seeking re-election on ODM ticket and says that his development track record will see him re-elected.

The MP also says that north eastern region will vote for NASA presidential flag bearer Raila Odinga and not Jubilee in the August 8 polls.
