Speaking at the conference, former PCEA Moderator David Gathanju urged the youth to participate in such conferences to learn from seasoned scholars.

Gathanju who quoted the Book of Nehemiah said the university has taken one of the major and best steps in ensuring that the researchers will take the given opportunity to develop and transform the society.

His statements were backed up by the current University Vice Chancellor Peter Kibass who said that the purpose of such conferences is focusing on improving various aspects of life ranging from ICT, Agriculture and Health.

“The role of the university is to create a platform for the innovators which in return will offer solutions for wealth and jobs creation. We, therefore, encourage all the researchers to take this golden opportunity as we all know that Innovation is very vital for our University and the society at large,” Kibass said.

Among those attending the three-day conference are Kiambu County Deputy Governor Gerald Githinji and Public Service Board Chairman Justin Kimani.

The conference comes barely nine months after President Uhuru Kenyatta urged researchers to embark on finding solutions that will promote growth and transformation in the country, during the Kenya-Uganda talks on the crude oil pipeline.
