The opposition party is calling upon amendment of the constitution to ensure that the Country's presidential seat is not taken by one ethnic group.

Speaking on Friday at the Siaya stadium the Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama stated that presidential rotation would ensure fairness.

"I am sure Raila will amend the constitution with the power of the people so that no particular ethnic group leads the country for ten years before the rest get an opportunity," said Muthama.

The Machakos senator further called upon Cord supporters to highly vote for Raila Odinga in the 2017 elections to initiate the start of rotational presidency. 

The senator has been lately accused of a series of hate speech charges. 

Muthama on Friday stated the call for sequential presidency had landed him in NCIC offices to answer for charges of hate speech. 

This was a second time after he was arrested alongside 5 other parliamentarians. 

Muthama has however stayed firm that he hasn't spoken any insightful words but has stated the truth as it is.
