Kisumu County Assembly Minority leader Edwin Anayo has challenged the lakeside county residents to collect enough signatures to ensure the county’s dissolution.

“I am challenging those who were earlier collecting signatures to continue so that we can dissolve this county government,” said Anayo.

Speaking to the press in his county assembly office today, the house minority leader regretted that Kisumu was still underdeveloped yet it is almost three years down the line.

He said that the county leadership has been involved in wrangles and fights since being elected into office thus hindering development agendas to be implemented.

“How do you expect a county to develop when there is too much in fighting since our swearing in? Which direction do we want to take with Kisumu if we are there to earn salaries and allowances but do not deliver on our promises to the people? Service delivery is very poor in Kisumu,” he asked.

Anayo ruled out possible dialogue in the county leadership and asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to dissolve the county after the collected signatures have reached the required threshold. He said that not even dialogue can save the county.
