President Uhuru Kenyatta has urged Kenyans to support government security measures in order to curb criminals and insecurity.
Addressing mourners at the Kanyiriri ACK church during the requiem mass for the late Kabete lawmaker George Muchai, the President said that the government would not tolerate criminals.
Kenyatta said that his government is keen to promote the security and safety of every Kenyan.
“We are not going to give criminals space to cause havoc and kill innocent and industrious citizens,” said the President.
The Head of State directed top security agencies to act swiftly and ensure those involved in the killing of the MP are arrested.
Various leaders eulogized the late MP as a hardworking person who was also kind to all people. Muchai, his driver and his two bodyguards were killed by armed gunman in Nairobi’s city center last Saturday.
The police are still investigating the killings as leaders across the divide call for more security surveillance.
