President-elect Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday had a light moment with Nairobians as he walked through one of the city's streets.
A jovial Kenyatta, possibly buoyed after the apex court upheld his reelection, dropped his motorcade for a walk from his office to the Treasury.
Several city dwellers had a moment with their president as he flashed smiles to excited onlookers.
"Walking to National Treasury from my office at Harambee House for a meeting with the economic team," Kenyatta captioned photos taken during the walk.
Sporting an expensive navy blue suit and a red tie, the president-elect walked at ease as cameras zoomed and flashed.
"Jambo!" a beeming Kenyatta said as he waved at a lady.
A man who hawks ballpoints along Harambee Avenue, the street where Kenyatta walked through, praised the gesture.
"Uhuru is always down to earth," he said.
And in a country where power is highly fought over, political leaders are seen as deities, 'a walking president' would obvously create immense interest.
