Governor James Ongwae has welcomed President Uhuru Kenyatta to Kisii County saying that he was free to visit the county anytime.

This comes just a month after President Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga agreed to work together. 

Speaking at a fundraiser in Masimba overr the weekend, Governor Ongwae warned those opposing the move by the country top leaders that they were dragging the nation behind. 

"I ask all politicians within all the political divides to work in unity for the better of the common mwananchi," he said. 

 According to him both leaders were right because the country had totally fallen out during the 2017 campaigns. 

He asked Kenyans to also embrace the spirit of unity. 

“NASA and Jubilee supporters should live together as one. I wish to assure Uhuru-Raila that my government is committed to ensure their peace preaching drive in Kisii region is a success for the sake of development across all the corners of the region,” he added.
