President Uhuru Kenyatta has arrived in Mogadishu for the inauguration of the newly elected president Mohamed Abdullahi.
The president's arrival was announced by Manoah Esipisu via social media (twitter.
The inauguration is taking place at a heavily guarded airport zone for fear of Al shabab attacks.
Regional heads of state are expected, especially those from the troop contributing countries under the African Mission in Somalia.
Among the top dignitaries to arrive were Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn and Djibouti's Ismail Omar, alongside delegations from Egypt and Kuwait.
Schools, businesses and roads were closed ahead of the inauguration and also commercial flights suspended.only vehicles carrying dignitaries were allowed to move.
