President Uhuru Kenyatta has said the national government is in no competition with the County governments.
Speaking on Monday during the launch of the public information portal, the head of state noted that both the national government and county governments should complete one another, and not engage in "unnecessary" contests, saying the competition was derailing development in the country.
"We should do these things together...my hope is that as we move forward, this transformation journey should not be a competition," he said.
"If we did not have such weird thinking by some governors, we would be doing things together," he added.
The president has in the recent past been involved in a public spat with opposition governors over projects, including Mombasa's Ali Hassan Joho and Kilifi's Amason Kingi.
The two outspoken governors had accused President Kenyatta of riding on donor-funded and those commissioned by past regimes.
