National Assembly speaker Justin Muturi has defended President Uhuru Kenyatta over his alleged involvement in the 5.3B Afya House Scandal.
Muturi said the report was an in-house auditor report that was leaked before completion and has not been verified by the auditor general.
Muturi was speaking at a fundraiser at Gikomba church in Maara constituency where he was hosted by Maara MP Kareke Mbiuki.
“This is an opposition tactic, this report was leaked by a staff affiliated to the opposition, which led to the opposition leaders rushing to the public to blame the government without due interrogations being conducted,” said Muturi.
“The opposition has a scheme to link the jubilee government in graft so as to discredit it ahead of the 2017 general election,” said Maara MP Kareke Mbiuki.
"This report has not been verified by the auditor general, why do they have to be given through back door," added Mbiuki.
