President Uhuru Kenyatta has donated a bus to ACK  St Luke's Cheptiret Boys High School to help solve transport challenges.

Uasin Gishu County governor Jackson Mandago who delivered the bus said this was the fulfillment of President Kenyatta’s promise when he visited the school some years back.

"Let me have the honour on behalf of President Kenyatta to deliver his promise which was made three years ago," he said after handing over the bus to the school Principal, Saturday.

"I want to urge the school management to put the bus into good use meant to improve the school performance. I want to see school mean score improving since it will soon be elevated to a National school," he added.

The school principal, Peter Kwambai, applauded the move saying it will help the school solve transport challenges that they have faced for decades.

"We will now be able to go for academic trips and symposiums since we will be required to only fuel instead of paying a lot of money to hire a bus from a nearby institution," he said.

He also called upon County and National governments help them improve schools infrastructure.

The handing over ceremony was also attended by Uasin Gishu County senator, Margaret Kamar, Keses Member of Parliament Swarup Mishra  and his counterpart Ainabkoi Member of Parliament William Chepkut.
