President Uhuru Kenyatta on Thursday warned leaders of politicking when they should be focusing on developing the country.
Mr. Kenyatta said that the agreement signed between him and Raila Odinga should be an alarm to leaders that politicking should now be an issue of the past.
Speaking during the launch of the second phase of the Ngong Road dualling project, the president said that Kenyans including leaders should shift focus to development projects such as the creation of jobs, infrastructure, affordable housing, healthcare, and electricity.
He asked the leaders to put politics aside and work together.
"You recently saw me meeting Raila where we agreed to cool things down and work together for the benefit of the citizens. Let us put politics aside and work for the people," advised the president.
Moreover, president Uhuru Kenyatta reminded the leaders that it is time to deliver on the pledges they made to Kenyans during the electioneering period.
He subsequently warned those politicking to stop it and focus on service delivery.
"It is time to shift our focus to service delivery to Kenyans, especially the big four development agenda that we have for our people. Our focus as the government is to deliver to our people. The time for politics is over," warned president Uhuru Kenyatta.
