President Uhuru Kenyatta has accused opposition leader Raila Odinga of trying to create suspense and confusion in the country by pulling out of the October 26 polls.
Speaking during a campaign rally in Taita Taveta, Kenyatta said it was clear Odinga was not interested in participating in the polls, and has been looking for excuses not to.
On this second day of their coastal tour, Jubilee leaders met to revamp their campaign strategy, where each one of them accused Odinga of pushing for a government of national unity.
“Naskia ya kwamba anataka kutangaza hivi karibuni ya kwamba yeye amejiondoa kwa uchaguzi wa tarehe ishirini na sita (We hear he wants to announce that he will not participate in the Otober 26 polls),”
Odinga has thrown more doubts whether or not he will participate in the presidential polls set for October, with his planned trip to the UK and USA.
The NASA coalition has insisted that they will not participate in any election, if their irreducable minimums are not met.
The coalition has been hitting the streets to force out the IEBC team led by CEO Ezra Chiloba, as they call on reforms of the embattled electoral body.
Jubilee Party on the other hand has insisted that the commission is in office to stay, and they will carryo out the polls as planned.
