President Uhuru Kenyatta has lashed out at the opposition for what he termed ‘bad politics’.
Speaking in Njoro on Saturday, the President said there is a need for leaders to be tolerant and preach peace among the people.
He said politics should not be about divisions but political ideas on how to better the lives of the people.
“Let us unite and cease dirty politics. Political competition is about policies and governance issues. Every politician or party should sell an agenda to the people and not divide people,” Kenyatta said.
The President was the chief guest at the Mother of Mery Girls Secondary school.
The president was hailed by leaders present for his humility during a fracas at parliament when he was giving the state of the nation address.
Opposition MPs whistled down the president during the function sending the house into disaaray.
MPs Millie Odhiambo, TJ Kajwang, Simba Arati, Opiyo Wandayi caused a commotion forcing the Speaker of the house to invoke standing orders and have them ejected.
