President Kenyatta on Tuesday afternoon announced that he had appointed appellate court President Kihara Kariuki to replace Attorney General Githu Muigai.
In addition, the president also made two more changes by appointing Kennedy Ogeto as the solicitor general and Njee Muturi shifting Deputy Chief of staff at the state house."I have also today nominated Kennedy Ogeto as Solicitor General and appointed Njee Muturi as Deputy Chief of Staff," President Kenyatta said.Kennedy Ogeto will now be tasked with assisting the Attorney General, conduct, or assign and supervise all court cases which includes appeals to be handled by the Attorney General.Kennedy is an alumnus of the University of Nairobi with a Masters of Law Degree. He also holds a Diploma in Legal Practice from the Kenya School of Law and a Bachelor of Law Degree. He is an Advocate of the High Court and a Certified Public Secretary, CPS (K) with wide experience in Commercial and Public Procurement Law.Kennedy Ogeto was part of President Kenyatta's legal team during the ICC trials.Njee Muturi who was the solicitor general has been President Kenyatta's aid for a long time and prior to his appointment in 2015. In 2017, Njee was named as one of the most influential men in president Kenyatta's Kitchen Cabinet.
