President Uhuru Kenyatta has sent a message of condolence to the family, relatives, and friends of the late Mzee Otieno Edwin Mathayo.
In his message, President Kenyatta said that he was deeply saddened by the death of Mr. Otieno, whom he described as a much-respected opinion and religious leader who devoted his life to serving God as a priest in the Legio Maria Church.
“In this hour of sorrow, I convey my deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences to the family, relatives, friends of Mr Otieno and the Legio Maria Church which he served with commitment and dedication as a priest,” President Kenyatta said.
The President noted that Mzee Otieno – born in Essong’olo village, Esianda in Vihiga County – will equally be remembered as an illustrious and generous person who was always ready to improve the community.
President Kenyatta has also sent a similar message of condolence and encouragement to the family, relatives, and friends of Mzee Japheth Moga Ayero of Vihiga.
"Mzee Ayero’s death has robbed the country of a great leader, mentor, and a friend who contributed significantly to nation building in various capacities as a public servant," Kenyatta said.
President Kenyatta noted that Mzee Ayero’s sterling service in various parts of the country and his exemplary virtues of diligence and dedication will remain an inspiration to many.
