President Uhuru Kenyatta has mourned the death of renowned Churchill Show comedian Emmanuel Makori alias "Ayeiya Poa Poa."

In his condolences message sent through his official Twitter page on Tuesday, the Head of State noted that the comedian's stage signature 'Ayeiya Poa Poa' will forever be remembered in the Kenyan entertainment circles.

"Rest well. We will all remember your signature - Ayeiyaa - Poa! Poa!" The tweet said.

President Kenyatta urged comedian Mwalimu Churchill to convey his sympathies to his team of comedians, adding that he was praying for Ayeiya's family and the Churchill Show crew.

Ayeiya died last week in a road accident along Lang'ata Road while on his way home after performing at the Churchill Show.

He was in the company of fellow comedi Paul Wa Kimani and his wife.

The two survived the grisly accident.
