President Uhuru Kenyatta has maintained that he will not sit down with Raila Odinga or NASA, even as calls from different quarters for the two to meet grow louder.

According to reports, Kenyatta met some governors in Kwale on Friday during the summit that concluded on Sunday and insisted that he will only meet over development issues.

“The President told the governors that he will only discuss genuine needs and grievances related to the development and guided by his Big Four agenda,” said a source that was in the meeting as quoted.

According to the source, Kenyatta made it clear that he will not meet any individual to discuss on matters political, adding that the time to politics is over.

The meeting was attended by some of the opposition governors including Josphat Nanok, Kakamega's Wycliffe Oparaya, Makueni’s Kivutha Kibwana with Kiraitu Murungi (Meru), Salim Mvurya (Kwale),  Joyce Laboso (Bomet), Jackson Mandago (Uasin Gishu), and Francis Kimemia (Nyandarua) representing the ruling party.

There have been calls for Raila and Kenyatta to have a seating, to iron out issues that have threatened to tear the country apart, which resulted from a controversial election.

Odinga and his NASA team have insisted that they will not recognize president Kenyatta's win, and will form their own government.

There were plans to swear in Odinga last week before they canceled them at the last minute.

The opposition coalition is expected to hold a meeting this week, as they deliberate on their next move.
