President Uhuru Kenyatta has also rubbished claims that there is bad blood between him and his deputy William Ruto.
This comes after reports went round that the two might not have agreed on the cabinet list that was announced last week on Friday by Kenyatta.
Ruto came out on social media to deny the allegations, urging Kenyans and especially Jubilee supporters to back President Kenyatta as he forms his government.
And on Tuesday, the two leaders seemed to read from the same script, with Kenyatta accusing some people of trying to break the existing relationship between the two.
“We used to be respectful of bereaved families in the past. We should not talk politics at funerals. We will have a time for politics. We do not want to divide the people. Do not allow outsiders to cause division among you.
‘‘You have seen people inciting divisions between me and Mr Ruto but we have stood our ground. We have left them to speak from outside,” Mr Kenyatta said.
Ruto on the other hand said they have a good working relation, and Kenyans should let him do his work as clearly set out in the constitution.
“We should give President Kenyatta time to appoint his cabinet secretaries and to assembly an able government without interfering,” he said.
